Brokechella 2013

dsc_0041This past weekend I was fortunate enough to be a part of what in my opinion is one of the most laid back and kick ass art & music festivals in the Los Angeles area. cARTel a community of artists in LA a couple of years ago decided to throw an alternative to the high priced Coachella festival. It started out as a cheap fun pool party and has in a very short time period turned into a 2000 person event.
This years Brokechella was a testament to the vision and hard work cARTel and their partners Shifty Rhythms along with new addition Brownies and Lemonade, have put in over the last couple of years. There were three stages this year and each of the above were responsible for curating their own stage.
On the get shifty stage where I opened up the festival and spent most of my time (when I wasn’t at the Prom, no really I went to a High School Prom that night) there was a healthy amount of great dance music. Ranging from House & Techno, to Dubstep, Trap and Moombahton even a good dose of hip hop and maybe even a jock jam or two thrown in there!!! All in all we had a great such a great night we had to kick people out in the end! With out the the Shifty Rhythms crew which consists of Goj!ra and Neo Fresco, and all of the other amazing people who came out to support, great events like this don’t happen. So, a huge thank you goes out to them, cARTel, and the guys over at Brownies and Lemonade. Check out the pictures and ALSO pleeeease head over to solvetihispuzl.com for a slightly different take on the whole Brokechella experience. You’ll be glad that you did. Dont forget the next and possibly last PZB & Friends will be on 4/25 @ Central in Santa Monica you wont want to miss it!!!!
