LAMP Weekly Mix #8 + Track of the Day – February 21st

Sorry about missing yesterdays track of the Day. Things get a little hectic sometimes over here in PZB’s world from time to time. It’s Friday though and the weekend is upon us. This weeks mix is sure to get you fired up for what ever you may have in store this weekend. Tonight you will almost certainly find me at Sound for Jaimie Jones and tomorrow LAMP and friends are throwing a party at the Echoplex featuring Penguin Prison. More info down on the bottom after the Track of the Day.
Here is the tracklist with links to all of the tracks.
1.) Wordlife — Club Strobe
2.) Ambiwlans — Identity
3.) Animal Trainer — Shane (Zombie Disco Squad Remix)
4.) Paranoid Resistance — The Tunnel
5.) The Subs feat. Jean-Pierre Castaldi — Concorde (Valy Mo Remix)
6.) Sebastien Leger — Bad Clock (Broken Clock Remix)
7.) Audion — Sky (Daniel Avery Remix)

Today’s Track of the Day “Identity” is from a very good friend of mine. The two of us have spent a good amount of time in the studio together and I am happy to finally be able to share some of his music with you. Ambiwlans as he is known is the latest addition to the LAMP roster of artists and we couldn’t be happier. His style is one that encompasses many different genres of dance music. He has a particular talent for what I call High Tech Minimal Techno. Bringing in those heavy bass lines and techy synth sounds creating almost this new brand of Techno.
Risky Vision.

Damsels cause distress. Men who crave orange zest and cigarettes. Our late night, lascivious business belongs in LA’s shadows, the deep sounds of the dance underground.

Come hide.

LAMP Weekly Mix + Track of the Day – February 14th

Happy Valentines Day!! I love Techno and because I love you all so much here is the weekly mix. Been a while since I just got down on some techno, It felt really good. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did mixing it! Here is the Track List again so you don’t have to remember or look back.

1.) Deapmash — Meters (TWR72 “Break it” Remix)
2.) Mark Archer — Armageddon (Nightwave Remix)
3.) Thomas Schumacher — I’ll Do You (Turbo Turbo Remix)
4.) Tiga vs. Audion — Let’s Go Dancing (Adam Beyer Remix)
5.) X-Press 2 — Want You Back (Jordan Peak Remix)
6.) Alan Fitzpatrick — We Are Forever Young (Original Mix)
7.) Dosem — Become One (Original Mix)

The First Track is off of one of Techno’s best in my opinion Alan Fitzpatrick. Almost every thing I’ve ever heard from him are banging techno beats. Perfect for that 3 am crowd. This track starts out pretty heavy and stays that way. Part way through there is a male vocal that is that sounds almost chant like that I love. I feel like it really drives the track. It’s a little dark but thats the point right!

The last track of the day for this week is by Dosem. This Spanish techno producer has been putting together what he has called “Soul Techno & Hi-Tech Funk”. Im glad he described it because I have to say it is definitely a unique take on the genre. He has a bunch of other tracks up on his soundcloud as well worth checking so make sure you do that.
Also next Friday February 22nd LAMP will be co-presenting Penguin Prison with our good friends Downtown Lobby, Cream and FruitFlyLife at the Echoplex. There are limited presale tickets for $12 click the Flyer above for Tickets. More info HERE
